Harp.

She spends her days down at the record store
Spinning vinyls they just don’t make anymore
She pulls it gently from the cardboard sleeve
Remember when the music made her believe
The soft guitar strings burst into life
This is her time

She sketches angels in her quiet room
Silent angels all portraying gloom
Holds her closer with their single wing
Been so long now, do you remember how to sing?
Across the waters of the distant bay
Why does she stay?

She walks down the ocean boulevard
Life ain’t easy but it shouldn’t be this hard
She whistles silently as the couples pass
Wonder if they will break up or last
The sea birds calling from a distant shore
There must be more

She stands so lonely on the moonlit grove
Is there someone who would not leave her alone?
Wants so bad to share her life
Is so scared will it hurt this time?
The vinyl spins on it’s own accord
What lies in store?

She spends her days down at the record store
Trying to buy a promise she doesn’t believe anymore
Two racks down is her favourite song
The one with the girl who just doesn’t belong
Once again the guitar springs into life
One day she’ll find
