Dion.
He walks the byways of the earth
Every side road he knows
Never the highway or the straight road
Flowers by the way he grows
The party’s life he is not
Never was nor ever will be
But in the amber silence of the coffee shop
He holds court for you and me
The warmer friendlier smile
Was ever cast upon his lips
The gracefulness and consideration somehow lost
Was in his soul to keep
No prize was he no one would care
Popularity he could neither gain nor shun
But with gentle holding arms
He would wait with you for the rising sun
Whisper sweet nothings in your ear
And never hope a heart to gain
When vampiric gaze turns away
In his heart he melts like rain
Westward bound never east
He seemed to seek the falling sun
Until the darker twilight before the dawn
He waited for the one to come
Accusatory they tore at him
Passive obliging never dared
Little did they know this soul
Solely did dare to do naught but care
Unarmoured in his openness
Still laid a mighty defence grid
For all the understanding he could muster
Compared to the feelings that he hid
A greater friend there never was
Yet crucified still was he
A martyr for love’s greater cause
One love borne out across the sea
