Another.

By way of apology for the cheesy sappiness of the previous post, here's something else to whet what little appetite you may have left.

Another.

He was in every measure of the day
A self made man in every way
All the comforts for which one could care
He earned with sweat and hours bare
His struggle yet was long but true
Spurring forward to not where he knew

The risks he had surmounted
The company quickly founded
He bought and sold with panache
And men stopped to hear what he had to say
A millionaire when we knew not the word
Honest and kind, or so we heard

He had a wife, God rest her soul
She bore him two sons or so we’re told
The elder one twas like his sire
The younger had left much to desire
He never married again in life
And forevermore forsook a wife

An active chap, this man was he
He partook of golf whenever he was free
He neither ate or drank to excess
Except for a snifter before his rest
In politics he voted the right way
And was a generous man, charities say

In all and all he was a model citizen
A fine specimen of an earthly denizen
Successful and just in his affairs
No ill to speak, no why nor where
And to his friends there was much surety
That his presence would ensure hilarity

So how shall we now eulogise this man?
Whose every affair was carefully planned?
However minute the detail observed
Was carefully tended with so much love
That with his success and busy life
We knew not him, and now have not the time?
